The Condo Store, one of the largest pre-construction real estate syndicates in North America, has established an annual scholarship to support real estate students at the Lang School. As part of the School’s commitment to provide financial support for students during the pandemic, Lang real estate students will have the opportunity to compete for a cash prize for the next five years (supported by University matched funds) in the third-year real estate appraisal course.
The Condo Store’s gift to the Lang School is an effort to support experiential learning of Bachelor of Commerce students within the real estate major, helping to encourage their teamwork, collaboration, and presentation skills.
“This scholarship is to support the future leaders in the real estate investment industry. We are excited to be partnering with Lang and look forward to having a positive impact on the lives of students through this scholarship program”, said Simon S. Mass, CEO of The Condo Store.
Students registered in the Real Estate Appraisal course will be automatically eligible for the scholarship. The funding is awarded to the student group with the highest grade on the course’s term project. The award is further supported by The Condo Store executives, giving the students an opportunity to meet and learn from industry experts and leaders.
“Industry support is vital for an applied program such as the Real Estate major at Lang. The generous support of The Condo Store furthers a strong connection to the industry for our students and the program.” according to Rogier Holtermans, Assistant Professor of Real Estate Finance at Lang.
Lang is one of just a few Canadian business schools that offer a specialization in real estate at the undergraduate level. The real estate program at Lang features a renowned and active advisory board that helps align the program’s academics with the industry.
“We feel strongly that doing whatever you can to support the next generation of leaders is important,” says alumnus Rich Kuypers, The Condo Store’s CMO. “This award will challenge students and help push them to think differently.”
